Stategy for ' Polity', Part-1
Hello everyone,
Sorry for not updating it regularly. By the way, this post is about one of the most important section of CAPF paper- POLITY. You pick any paper, I will guarantee, You will find a major portion covered by Polity. But also polity has got a big syllabus, so many aspirants have asked me, What to read and how to read. It is true that polity has got a big syllabus, but it is like a ' Rule book', I can assure you, if you revise it one or two times seriously , you won't face any problems.
I will write about ' Fundamental Right' in the next post........
So now what will be the main source for it. I will recommend ' INDIAN POLITY by M. Luxmikant', and after it of you want , you can go for SriRAm IAS material available in the market.
now, what to read. I will describe it in various points-
1- I think first of all you must read the history of the constitution as how it had been developed going through many acts like ' Regulating Act, 1973', ' Various Charter Acts', ' Indian council Acts' etc. And then read about the making of the constitution, different committees and their Heads are very important.
2- Then go for the salient features of the constitution. It is very important because if you know the basic things about the constitution then you will poses a base on which you can make a building. You must have to memorize basic facts of the constitution also, like how many parts it has, name of the parts etc.
3- Comparison of Indian Constitution and various constitutions of the world is also important. UPSC has been asking a lot of question from here.
4- You must memorize ' Preamble' and also have a clear concept about the various terms it poses like, ' SOVEREIGN', ' SOCIALIST', 'SECULAR', DEMOCRATIC', 'REPUBLIC' etc. also read about various facts associated with Preamble like ' Berubari Case, ' Keshavananda Bharti Case' etc.
5- Go for Part -1 of the constitution and also memorize articles associated with it, UPSC won't ask directly from here but then can ask from any current event associated with it.
6- Go for Part -2 of the constitution about ' citizenship'. UPSC can ask about ' POI citizens' and ' OCI citizens'. also government is planning to make an amendment to the act associated with it.
I will write about ' Fundamental Right' in the next post........
